Simonas Strazdas

The young Lithuanian bass Simonas Strazdas completed his Master’s degree at the Lithuanian Academy of Music and Theatre in Vilnius in 2022.

During his studies, he performed roles such as Papageno in Mozart’s Die Zauberflöte and Gremin in Tchaikovsky’s Eugen Onegin, as well as Don Alfonso in Mozart’s Così fan tutte at the Sibelius Academy of the University of the Arts Helsinki.

In 2024, he made his debut as Titurel in Wagner’s Parsifal at the Goetheanum in Dornach, Switzerland.

Since the 2023/24 season, Simonas Strazdas has been a member of the Opernstudio at the Vienna State Opera. He made his debut as Amantio in Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi and has also been seen in roles such as Sergeant in Manon Lescaut, Daland in Das verfluchte Geisterschiff, and Don Basilio in Der Barbier für Kinder.
