Mattia Olivieri
The Italian baritone Mattia Olivieri comes from Sassuolo and studied at the Giovanni Battista Martini Conservatory in Bologna and in Fermo. He is a scholarship holder of various foundations and a participant in various master classes and in 2009 he joined the Scuola dell'Opera Italiana in Bologna. He made his operatic debut in 2008 in Madama Butterfly and as Fiorello at the Tuscan Lyric Festival, and as Ben in Menotti's Il telefono at the Teatro Comunale in Caserta. In 2015 he began his collaboration with La Scala in Milan - first singing Schaunard (La bohème), then Belcore (L'elisir d'amore), Masetto (Don Giovanni), Malatesta (Don Pasquale). Other engagements include Marcello (La bohéme) in Athens, Sao Paulo and Amsterdam, Schaunard in Valencia, Guglielmo (Così fan tutte) in Valencia, Nice, Rome, Don Giovanni in Palermo, Trieste, Naples, Dubai, Ping (Turandot) at the Arena di Verona and at the Bregenz Festival, Nardo (La finta giardiniera) in Glyndebourne at La Scala in Milan and in Shanghai, Escamillo (Carmen) in Geneva, Belcore in Valencia, Barbiere-Figaro in Nice, Papageno (Magic Flute), furthermore Enrico (Lucia di Lammermoor) in Padua, Alphonse (La Favorite) at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, at the Liceu and in Palermo, Ford (Falstaff) in Tokyo. His current engagements include performances at the Bavarian State Opera, Florence, Amsterdam, La Scala Milan, ROH Covent Garden, Teatro Real in Madrid, Houston, Brussels and Macerata.
