Martin Winter
The Slovak Martin Winter received his education at the Dance Conservatory of Eva Jacz and the Dance Conservatory Prague. His first engagement was in the Ballet of the National Theatre Prague. Since 2007 he is a member of the Vienna State Ballet. His large repertoire comprises, amongst others, Jiří Kylián’s »Petite Mort« and »Bella Figura«, Gurn in Pierre Lacotte's »La Sylphide«, Rat king in Rudolf Nureyev's »The Nutcracker«, Tybalt in Davide Bombanaʼs »Roméo et Juliette«, title role in Thierry Malandainʼs »Don Juan«, Arabian Dance (solo) in Malandainʼs »Cendrillon«, Faun in Boris Nebylaʼs »L'Après-midi d'un faune«, Fortuna and Husband in Vesna Orlićʼs »Carmina Burana«, Wesir in Orlićʼs »Tausendundeine Nacht« and András Lukácsʼ »Bolero«. Furthermore, he danced in Martin Schläpfer's world premieres of »4«, »Sinfonie Nr. 15« and »The Seasons« as well as in »Ein Deutsches Requiem«. He created his first own choreographies for »Young Choreographers« of the Ballettclub Wiener Staatsoper & Volksoper with »DONʼT Know« (2012) and »Outside In« (2017). In 2018 he choreographed »When Tears Fall« for »Young Choreographers« of the Noverre-Gesellschaft Stuttgart. With »Sen 0815« another work was createdby Martin Winter for the »Plattform Choreographie« of the Vienna State Ballet at the Volksoper Wien in December 2022.
