Gleb Shilov
Gleb Shilov was born in Perm (Russa). He started his education at the National Ballet School in his hometown (1996-2002) and continued his studies at the Ballet Concervatory St. Pölten in Austria (2002-2007). In 2006 he won the 1st Prize at the European Open Championship. Moreover, he completed his studies of Pedadgogy and Choreography at the Kiev National University of Culture and Art in 2009/10. Since 2007 he is a member of the Vienna State Ballet. His most important roles comprise Lover in Thierry Malandainʼs »Don Juan«, Prince in Malandainʼs »Cendrillon«, Aladin in Vesna Orlićʼs »Tausendundeine Nacht«, Bridegroom in Orlićʼs »Carmina Burana«, Shadow and Mr. Smee in Orlićʼs »Peter Pan«, Friend in Maurice Béjartʼs »Le Concours«, Benvolio in Davide Bombanaʼs »Roméo et Juliette«, Faun in Boris Nebylaʼs »L'Après-midi d'un faune«, Spitz in »Max und Moritz« by Ferenc Barbay & Michael Kropf and parts in Lotte de Beer's & Andrey Kaydanovskiy's »Jolanthe and the Nutcracker«, Martin Schläpfer's world premieres of »4« and »Sinfonie Nr. 15« as well as in »Ein Deutsches Requiem«. Furthermore, he has been dancing in several musicals, operettas and operas at the Volksoper Wien – such as solos in »The Merry Widow«, »Carousel« and »Carmen« – and operas at the Vienna State Opera, such as »Aida« and »Carmen«.
