Giovanni Cusin
Giovanni Cusin was born in Abano Terme (Padova, Italy). He was educated at the Scuola di Ballo del Teatro alla Scala directed by Frederic Olivieri, where he studied mainly under Leonid Nikonov, Maurizio Vanadia and Emanuela Tagliavia. He graduated in 2016, in the same year he performed »The Nutcracker« by Nacho Duato and »Swan Lake« by Alexei Ratmansky at Teatro alla Scala under the direction of Mauro Bigonzetti. After graduation, he joined NRW Juniorballett Dortmund in Germany under the direction of Xin Peng Wang. In 2018 he became a member of the Vienna State Ballet. His repertoire comprises fiancé in Pierre Lacotte’s »Coppélia«, Baumgeist and Satyr in Manuel Legris’ »Sylvia«, a corsair in Legris’ »Le Corsaire«, Sapphire variation in Martin Schläpfer's »The Sleeping Beauty« as well as parts in Frederick Ashton's »La Fille mal gardée«, George Balanchine’s »Jewels«, Edward Clug’s »Peer Gynt«, William Forsythe’s »Artifact Suite«, Kenneth MacMillan's »Concerto«, John Neumeier’s »Le Sacre«, Rudolf Nureyev’s »Swan Lake« and »The Nutcracker«, John Cranko’s »Onegin« and Jiří Kylián’s »Symphony of Psalms«, Jerome Robbins' »Glass Pieces« and »The Concert«. Furthermore, he danced in Martin Schläpfer's »4«, »Symphonie Nr. 15«, »Marsch, Walzer, Polka« and »The Seasons«.
