Giovanni Curreli

The Italian Giovanni Curreli studied in Sassari at the Liceo Classico, Musicale e Coreutico “D. A. Azuni” and the Conservatorio “L. Canepa”, majoring in piano. As a ballet pianist he graduated at the Accademia Teatro alla Scala in 2019. He has worked as a vocal coach at the Nordiska Musikgymnasiet Stockholm, at Conservatorio “L. Canepa” and at the Catholic Fu-Jen University in New Taipei. As a repetiteur he has worked at the dance academies “D. A. Azuni” in Sassari and “Isabella d’Este” in Mantua as well as at the Serbian National Theatre Novi Sad, the Czech National Ballet Prague, the Teatro Lirico Cagliari and the Teatro San Carlo Naples. He also worked as a piano teacher at the “A. Chironi” music school in Nuoro and played piano and celesta in the Prague State Opera Orchestra.

As a ballet pianist he was engaged for performances of the Accademia Nazionale di Danza in Rome, with the Czech National Ballet he toured with John Crankoʼs Romeo and Juliet and also appeared as a pianist in John Neumeierʼs A Streetcar Named Desire. In the field of opera, he has worked on productions of Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi at the Festival Internazionale di Mezza Estate in Tagliacozzo, Verdi’s Aida at the Novi Sad Opera, Cilea’s Gloria, Giordano’s Andrea Chenier and Verdi’s La Traviata at the Teatro Lirico in Cagliari.
