Dohoon Lee

The South Korean bass Dohoon Lee was born in 1995. He studied at Seoul National University under Kwangchul Youn and Kyuhee Cho. During his studies, Lee performed the role of the Second Armed Man in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte. In 2022, he began a Master's degree in Opera under Professor Albert Pesendorfer at the Berlin University of the Arts. In 2023, he performed Le Fauteuil and Un chêne in the opera L'Enfant et les sortilèges, and in 2024, he took on the role of Collatinus in Benjamin Britten's The Rape of Lucretia.

Additionally, from July to August 2024, he was selected as a member of the 2024 International Meistersinger Academy (IMA) and received an IMA scholarship, which included an Opera Gala concert with the Nuremberg Symphony Orchestra, followed by a total of five concerts in Neumarkt in der Oberpfalz.

Starting in the 2024/25 season, Dohoon Lee will join the Opernstudio of the Vienna State Opera as a scholarship recipient of the WCN – World Culture Networks.
