Clémentine Margaine

French mezzo soprano CLÉMENTINE MARGAINE was born in Narbonne, studied at Paris Conservatory and soon became an ensemble member of Deutsche Oper Berlin. She has sung to great acclaim at various opera companies such as the New York Met, Opéra national de Paris, Deutsche Oper Berlin, Bayerische Staatsoper, Teatro Colón in Buenos Aires, in Rome, Geneva and Naples. Most recently, she embodied the roles of Fidès in Meyerbeer’s Le prophète at Deutsche Oper Berlin, Amneris at Opera Australia, Léonor in La Favorite at Liceu in Barcelona, in Marseille and at Bayerische Staatsoper, Carmen at the New York Metropolitan Opera, Opéra national de Paris, in Toronto, Rome, Munich, Dallas and Toulouse, Sara (Roberto Devereux) at Bayerische Staatsoper, Dulcinée in Massenet’s Don Quichotte at Lyric Opera in Chicago, Rebecca in Il Templario at Salzburg Festival, Charlotte at Teatro Colón. In the near future, she will be singing Carmen at the New York Metropolitan Opera and ROH Covent Garden, as well as Dulcinée at Deutsche Oper Berlin.
