Charles Workman

Charles Workman was born in Arkansas, USA, and is a graduate of the Juilliard School in New York. He is a versatile artist who, early in his career, ranked among the world's top Rossini and Mozart tenors. In recent years, he has gained recognition for his performances in youthful-dramatic and heldentenor roles, while continuing to be highly regarded in early music, French repertoire, as well as contemporary works and operas from the 20th century.

He has collaborated with numerous renowned conductors and directors at major international theaters, concert halls, and festivals. His recent engagements include La Juive (Staatsoper Hannover), Francesca da Rimini (Deutsche Oper Berlin), Brett Dean's Hamlet and Weinberger's The Passenger (Bavarian State Opera Munich), Elektra (Royal Opera House London), The Greek Passion (Salzburg Festival), Jenůfa (Teatro dell'Opera di Roma), and Fin de Partie (Vienna State Opera). His upcoming projects include Salome (Teatro San Carlo Naples and Teatro Massimo Palermo).

Charles Workman made his debut at the Vienna State Opera in 2012 as Admète in Alceste.
