Anton Ziegler

Anton Ziegler was born in Vienna. Here, he studied composition, conducting, and accompaniment at the University of Music and Performing Arts. In 2007, he received his first engagement at the Theater an der Wien, where he oversaw about 40 new productions as a study director and repetiteur in the following years. Other important positions included opera houses in Zurich and Frankfurt, as well as the Salzburg Festival and the Vienna Festival Weeks. A significant influence on his career was his collaboration with Nikolaus Harnoncourt, with whom he worked closely for several years until Harnoncourt's passing.
