KS Ildebrando D`Arcangelo

ILDEBRANDO D’ARCANGELO was born in Pescara, Italy and began his vocal training in 1985 under Maria Vittoria and continued in Bologna at Paride Venturi. In 1989 and 1991, he was a prize winner of the singing competition, Toti dal Monte. His first roles were Don Lafonso in Così fan tutte and Masetto in Don Giovanni at the Teatro Comunale in Treviso. Since then, he has sung in all important opera houses in the whole world including the Met, the Scala, the ROH Covent Garden, the Opéra in Paris, the Lyric Opera Chicago, in Barcelona, Toulouse and at the Salzburger Festspielen. His repertoire includes, among other works, Lepo­rello, Don Giovanni, Figaro and Conte d’Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro), Colline (La Bohème), Alidoro (La cenerentola) and Guglielmo and respectively Don Alfonso (Così fan tutte). He gave his debut at the Wiener Staatsoper in 1994 as Bartolo (Le Nozze di Figaro). Furthermore in the house on the ring, he has sung the roles of Leporello, Figaro, Conte d’Almaviva, Don Alfonso, Guglielmo, Dulcamara (L’elisir d ’amore), Don Giovanni, Escamillo (Carmen), Mustafà (L’italiana in Algeri), Graf Rodolfo (La sonnambula), Enrico VIII. (Anna Bolena) and Alidoro (La cenerentola). In 2014, he has been awarded the title "Österreichischer Kammersänger".
