Jillian Vanstone

Jillian Vanstone is a stager, rehearsal director and coach for Christopher Wheeldonʼs works as well as a freelance producer. A former Principal Dancer with the National Ballet of Canada, throughout her 22-year performance career Jillian Vanstone was celebrated for her unique storytelling ability and exceptional technique. Her repertoire spanned the 19th century classics, the masterworks of the 20th century, and new ballets by todayʼs leading choreographers. She is best known for her interpretation of Alice in Wheeldonʼs Aliceʼs Adventures in Wonderland. Jillian Vanstone retired from the stage in March 2022 with Wheeldonʼs renowned After the Rain. In her current capacities she has since been working internationally, including with Hamburg Ballet, The Royal Ballet London, Los Angeles Ballet, The National Ballet of Canada, Queensland Ballet and Fall for Dance North, Torontoʼs Premier Professional International Dance Festival. In the 2024/25 season, Jillian Vanstone is jointly responsible for the production of Christopher Wheeldonʼs The Winterʼs Tale at the Vienna State Ballet.
