Short Summary
Once a season, the big stage belongs to the next generation of ballet dancers:
As the highlight of dance training at the Vienna State Opera Ballet Academy, students at all training levels show what they have been working on over the past few months. On 15 December, La Bayadère after Marius Petipa is once again on the program from the repertoire - a masterpiece of the Romantic period that offers roles that are as beautiful as they are challenging. Christiana Stefanou presents a world premiere with Prisma to music by Philip Glass, while the youth company presents Martin Schläpfer's miniature ballet Quartz - an intimate play about closeness and distance, encounters and loneliness that gets under the skin.
